We have been struggling for years to get that elusive Olympic gold since we first participated in the Olympics. Multi million rewards are in fact being offered as incentives.
I think it would be real good to have a Filipino represented even as a torchbearer. How often can a Filipino have such an opportunity…it in itself is very competitive. I hope all Filipinos who think it is relevant can rally behind it. We are up against a Colombian, Brits and Americans. Let’s show them what Filipinos can do when we’re united.
Let’s go for gold!
[…] The BBN is helping Marcos Torres, a Filipino, to become the Olympic torch bearer for the upcoming Olympics. This would be a good time to show your Filipino pride and vote for him now and send a Filipino to the Olympics. […]
Hi Rico,
Great post! Let’s go for gold! Let’s get that positive vibe out there for Marco Torres and for our Filipino athletes who are going to represent our country.
I found this interesting trivia about the torch relay that your readers might like: The first and only time the Olympic torch was in the Philippines (and possibly, the only time it was held by Filipinos) was on September 3, 1964 for the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo. That was a long time ago so we should really push for Marco Torres’ bid to be a torchbearer.
Pakisabi na lang kay Marco, good luck at all the best!
Hey, where’d you find that out? Will the torch also pass by here since the games are in Asia again?
Hi Rico. I also featured Marco in my blog. Hoping that the use of our forces in the blogosphere would increase Marco’s votes. Goodluck to Proud Pinoy Marco!
Go Pinoys!
[…]Do you want a Filipino to be one of only eight Expat Torchbearers in the Beijing Olympics? Here’s how, all you have to do is VOTE for Marcos Antonio Torres. He’s a nice guy who’s addicted to playing volleyball. The last time I played volleyball with him, he seems to be very passionate with the sport. He hates losing. Right now, he’s living in China. Here’s his profile:[…]
Guys,
Thanks for all the support. In 6 days, with all your support, I’ve amassed about 800 votes and made it to number 16th….which seemed a tall task coming from last Wednesday when I started.
Thanks for all the support. Keep it coming. This will be a sweet victory for all Pinoys if we make it. That will be a gold medal for all of us because making it means VICTORY for all who supported.
Thanks again.
Like you said Marc, he’s already in the top 15. Let’s continue pushing this!

Keep forwarding via email, YM, Friendster, blogging, etc. blasts.
FYI, also learned that YOU CAN ALSO VOTE REPEATEDLY, at the very least once a day. Hence you can make it a habit to VOTE everytime you LOG IN.

I would like to vote for Vladimir
Frias Reyes, expat in Beijing, of
becoming an Olympic Torch Bearer
for the Filipinos.
Thank You, for your attention.
Peeps,
Vote lang and forward….use YM, emails, Facebook, Friendster, Multiply, fax, DHL, Fedex, etc. etc lahat na… Let’s make sure a Pinoy makes it.
Kung sa Miss Universe nga chaka American Idol, Pinoy lahat ng bumoboto, dito pa kayo.
Kaya natin to! Go for the GOLD!
Dear Tomas Yu-Shing Chuang,
Vlad Reyes is an American passport holder as per his point no. 9. If he carries the torch, it will be for the America not the Philippines. Its just like in Miss Universe or any sporting event, American passport holders cannot represent the Philippines.
Anyway, you are free to vote anyone you choose. Good luck to you and Vlad.
Filipinos, vote for Marco. Except for the last year, he has never ever lived outside the Philippines. He is as Pinoy as Penoy!
Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! Mabuhay ang Filipino!
Dear Fellow-Filipinos,
Thank you for making a stand and exercising your rights of suffrage…Let us not let this golden opportunity pass us by…Vote Marco Torres! Our most eligible candidate to represent us in the Beijing Olympics…We can make this happen!
A toast to Marco! We believe in you. May God’s mighty hand uphold you… Godspeed!
Peace and unity to us all!
Kathy

We have until the END OF OCTOBER TO VOTE. Please forward to all your friends, relatives and countrymen.
Kung magkakaisa ang mga Pinoy, there is no limit to what we can achieve. Maraming salamat muli. Let us keep the torch burning in our hearts!

No time to lose. Go for the Gold! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!
Before another day passes by, I want to thank you for all the support you have given me in our quest to have a Pinoy carry the Olympic torch once again after 4 decades of waiting. Thanks to your help, we landed in no. 2 making us one of the 100 finalists.
You can see the tally in the attached link:
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/olympics/torch_page.html
Another link leads you to the top 100 from whom they will choose 8. 5 Filipinos have made it: me, Noel, Jimmy, Michelle and Jeremy, giving the Philippines a 5% chance. All are very deserving. That is celebration enough. In the end, let’s just pray any 5 of us makes it.
For me, having united all Filipinos for a positive cause is victory in itself. Carrying the torch now will just be icing on the cake.
Thanks for the support! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!
Always proudly Pinoy,
Marco
