Well, we’re not introducing PinoyCentric per se; the aptly-named blog has been around since September 2006. But it’s good to see that we’re not alone in our mission to highlight Filipino stuff, and we’re positively envious of the website’s tagline: Celebrating all things brown and beautiful. Brown for the color of our skin (well, most of us anyway) and beautiful for what is featured.
The staff of PinoyCentric are “Chicago-based but Pinas-grounded.” Which goes to show that wherever you find a Filipino (The Philippine’s biggest export is people), there’s no place like home. Thanks to a certain Armand B. Frasco, who’s apparently into Moleskines, for telling us about the website through email. Here’s to yet another website that believes in things Filipino!
By the way, if you’re into Moleskines, PinoyCentric is running a caption contest.
Update: Check out Armand’s beautifully written post about how the concept of Bayanihan relates to the Philippine Blogosphere. For some reason, articulate appreciation is always easy on the eyes and ears.
