Yesterday, Lester sent me an email detailing another online poll. Once again, it’s our chance to make the Philippines win!
Basically, all it involves is signing up for an account at www.new7wonders.com (don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with using a fake name and email, if you’re a bit shy), and using this link to vote for Tubbataha Reef, a natural Philippine landmark.
new7wonder’s contest aims to name the seven natural wonders of the world. And if you’ve experienced the Philippines’ beautiful beaches and ecosystems, then you know that Tubbataha Reef deserves to be on that list!
If you want to know more about this natural landmark, Eugene’s post on the Tubabataha Reef gives the lowdown.

BBN Partner Sasha has posted a list of those who’ve signed-up for the Blogger Meet and Greet scheduled for this 30th. As of this writing over 43 have already confirmed their attendance. Remember, only the first 50 guests will enjoy unlimited coffee and dessert for free!
The night will be a place where you can share ideas, insights, or just entertaining tidbits with fellow bloggers, and meet b5media’s Shai Coggins. It’s your last chance to do this while sipping and eating to your heart’s content.

We’d like to thank the owners of Kape Isla and Gang Badoy of RockEd. Now we finally have a venue for the bloggers meet-and-greet originally proposed by b5media’s Shai Coggins.
The first 50 guests will be treated to unlimited coffee and dessert, the centerpiece of which will be a free-flowing chocolate fondue fountain. If you haven’t confirmed your attendance over at the Facebook event page (sign-up required), feel free to leave a comment here. Be seeing you!

Blogger Meetup

Shai Coggins is, in her own words, “one of the co-owners and Vice President (Community) of a global new media network, b5media.” She also happens to be a Filipina who grew up in the Philippines and ended up settling down in Australia.
Mrs. Coggins will be returning to the motherland soon, and she’s eager to meet up with the local blogging scene, as well as finally see people she’s only known online. So, any bloggers currently or based in the Philippines, clear your calendars for November 30 if you’ll be in Metro Manila. We’re still working on a venue, but updates will come as soon as possible.
Be seeing you!

Oh wow, I can’t believe it! This blog network is a finalist in the 2007 Philippine Web Awards! Congratulations to fellow bloggers Abe (a partner of this network), Noemi, and Ferdz for being our co-nominees.
The judges will decide the final winners of each category (fittingly enough, the BBN’s under “Blogs”). But dear readers, you can still make a difference by helping us win the People’s Choice Award!
You can vote for us in two ways: on the 10th PWA website (signup required) or through SMS.
Texters should send WEBBYS VOTE 15 to 2973 for Globe/Touch Mobile or 210 for Smart/Talk N’ Text. The charge is a nominal Php 2.50 per text.
The organizers will accept votes up until November 22, 2007, 11:59PM Philippine Time, so get voting!

Abe is currently enjoying Davao City, participating in the 2007 Mindanao Bloggers Summit. Check out his snapshots.
A special hello goes to Mindanao Bob, the foreigner-convert behind Live in the Philippines.

Here’s another survey to participate in. But this time, it’s open to bloggers of any kind, not just Filipino. Click here to check it out. Here’s a message from Joel, the surveyor:
Hi! I’m a student of Don Bosco Technical College in Manila. I am currently working on a software for my pre-thesis work and would like to ask for your help in participating this survey that I made. This survey will take you just 10-15 minutes of your precious time. Please answer all the questions as much as possible in order to get the most relevant and accurate survey reports. All respondent’s information and responses will be kept in total confidentiality. Let’s get it rollin’.
Joel is currently working on some desktop client blogging software, which will apparently let you write posts while you’re offline and post them on your blogs once you get some connectivity. He told me that he’s planning to release the final product as donation ware (freely available, with an encouragement to donate to the maker).
Again, with Joel’s permission, the results of this survey will be available on this blog as soon as they’re ready.
Three students from the University of the Philippines have set up an online survey for Filipino (by blood) bloggers who reside in the Philippines and maintain a personal blog. Click here to provide your answers, and Renz Angeles, Marielle Dado, and Racine Maniego finish their final Psychology 118 project.
You’ll be asked to provide your blog’s URL and some data regarding your blogging habits and style. Want to keep things hush hush? Here’s what the students have to say: “We would like to assure you that we respect your privacy, and will render all results anonymous. All blog URLs will be deleted after this study is completed.” You can email them if you have any questions.
I’m very interested in the results, because they may provide a better picture of the Filipino blogger. You’ll find the results on this blog once they’re ready.
